too long gone

It really bugs me that I cannot make as much time for this blog as I would like. I'm asking a favor today from anyone who believes in the power of prayer. Since I've worked here in the public library for so long, I've watched a lot of young people grow up into responsible adults. One of these is a young 18 yr old who has been stricken with leukemia. He's home right now after spending a month in the hospital taking chemo. Next week he gets 3 more treatments, then probably radiation and a bone marrow transplant. He just graduated from high school last spring and was really getting his life together when the diagnosis blindsided him. His name is Cody. If you just please pray for him and his family. Missouri weather is playing tricks on us again. Today it is 56 degrees outside. Tomorrow is supposed to usher in snow flurries. Our old bones don't adjust that fast. Oh well!

Calvlin & I have been enjoying a revival in our neighbor city of Vandalia this week. The evangelist is a man who ministered here over 40 years ago. I guess this is a reunion of sorts.
It is nice to get reacquainted with Christian friends from years ago.

We are coming into reading season. I've been taking home an eclectic mix of everything. I just finished a book by Faye Kellerman - The Mercedes Coffin. It's a Decker & Lazarus novel. If anyone is interested in those, give it a try.
